Some pubs are just somewhere to sit. The Black Lion is somewhere to turn up.

There’s usually a game on the pool table, two dartboards that rarely get a rest, and a deck out the back that fills up the second the sun shows its face. Monday to Saturday there’s something on, and the rest of the time there’s a cold pint, a decent bit of chat and a seat with your name on it.
